Sarah Carter-Smith

Board of Alderman
Title: Alderwoman, Ward 3
Phone: 601-334-1537

Natchez is a city that I love and cherish. Born and raised in Natchez, I graduated from South Natchez High School in 1984 and then attended the University of Mississippi where I majored in Marketing and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. After living away for twenty years, my husband, Natchezian, Jim Smith and I fulfilled a long term goal of moving our family to our beautiful hometown of Natchez.

It is very important to me that my three children see the value in serving and giving back. Since returning to Natchez, I have made it a priority to get involved and try to make a difference. In 2012, I decided to take my involvement a step further and run for public office.

I want to thank the constituents of Ward 3 for putting your trust in me to represent you in city government. I take my position very seriously and will do my best to represent you well. During my first term and also in my second term, I am serving as Utilities Chairman and Health Chairman. I also serve on the Recreation, Education, and Ordinance Committee as well as the Street Committee. I will serve you with a fresh, common sense approach in a professional manner.

I want to see Natchez grow and prosper so that future generations will be able to earn a living and raise a family here in our beautiful city of Natchez. Again, thank you for allowing me to serve you.

Sincerely, Sarah Carter Smith Alderman, Ward 3
